Andrew J. Paulden

Andy Paulden has twenty-five years of governmental and commercial auditing experience.  He has been with the Firm since 1985 after graduating from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting.  He has been a partner in the Firm since 1994 and his primary audit business focus is governmental and employee retirement system audits and accounting.

Andy actively participates in various professional organizations such as the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, Government Finance Officers’ Association (GFOA), State Association of County Retirement Systems, and California Society of Certified Public Accountants Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee. He is a pro bono recognized reviewer for the GFOA Certificate of Achievement Award Committee.  He enthusiastically contributes his time to this Award process, because as he reviews CAFRs from all across the United States, he maintains current, up to date knowledge of municipal accounting principles. Andy heads our participation as an associate member in SACRS and sponsoring member in CALAPRS. Participation in these organizations allows him to remain current on all administrative, legal, and accounting issues impacting 1937 Act retirement systems.

Andy has extensive retirement system auditing experience.  Just a few of the retirement system audits he is currently in charge of include Los Angeles County Employees’ Retirement Association, San Mateo County Employees’ Retirement Association, Stanislaus County Employees’ Retirement Association, Orange County Employees’ Retirement Association, Marin County Employees’ Retirement Association, Sonoma County Employees’ Retirement Association, Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association, and San Joaquin County Employees’ Retirement Association.

Andy enjoys being a “hands-on” partner, working one-on-one with his clients in order to provide them with the excellent service they deserve.
